Metal Slug is a run and gun developed by SNK and released for PlayStation 1. It is essentially an improved version ofMetal Slug 2, with graphical improvements, gameplay adjustments and greater fluidity.
 
In this fun action game, players control soldiers from the Peregrine Falcon team (Marco Tarma, Eri and Fio), who embark on a mission to save the world from a terrorist threat from General Morden. Armed with various weapons and vehicles, such as tanks and planes, players face a multitude of enemies, ranging from soldiers to strange creatures.
 
The gameplay is intense, mixing rapid fire sequences, imposing bosses and diverse levels, each offering its own challenge. Players can also free prisoners to gain power-ups, improving their abilities and arsenal.
